Some 16 years after the opening of its beloved five-star hotel on Paris’s Avenue George V, the Barrière group is heading across the Atlantic to another stylish neighborhood—this time, NewYork City’s Tribeca. Blending Parisian panache with NYC cool, Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York will feature 97 rooms and suites envisioned by renowned designer Martin Brudnizki, who chose art deco as the main inspiration and lavender as the primary color. (Look out for the custom lavendertoile de jouywallpaper—an homage to the decor at the brand’s flagship hotel in Normandy—printed with Tribeca-appropriate motifs like women carrying Birkin bags and Robert DeNiro in fullTaxi Drivermode.) Amenities willinclude a plush screening room, a rooftop terrace, a glam pool, the Spa Diane Barrière and multiple drinking and dining options, including an outpost of the historic French brasserie Fouquet’s.
