After a disruptive two years, the hospitality industry reemerges with a strong, yet cautious outlook. Indeed, hotel brands are booming, with a healthy outlook of properties expected to open this year. “We will see a full recovery in the industry, but it will take some time,” says Bruce Ford, senior vice president and director of global business development at Lodging Econometrics. According to the hotel data company, the U.S. has 6,070 projects in the pipeline, followed by China with 3,844 hotels.When curatingHD’s annual Hot List, we wanted to show the breadth of hospitality, whether it’s upgraded camps or sustainably minded properties.
