Who We Are
Caspi Development is a real estate company with an unparalleled reputation for perfection in design, construction, and property management. With a track record of both metropolitan and suburban achievements, Caspi thrives in the competitive New York City, Fairfield, and Westchester landscapes. Bringing three generations of experience to the table, the firm taps into its expertise in site selection and financial entrepreneurship to succeed in a variety of markets.
Caspi Development’s history stretches back to the 1950s, when Joseph Caspi – who owned and operated several clothing companies – leaped into the real estate realm. He acquired numerous high-profile apartment buildings in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester County, earning a reputation as a rental property expert. Joseph Caspi’s notable properties included the Grand Concourse Hotel in the Bronx; he also founded the Sephardic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn.
Since the 1970’s, Joseph Caspi’s son Steven J. Caspi has led the company to new levels by developing several marquee commercial and residential projects in Fairfield, Westchester, and Manhattan. Over the last four decades, the firm has acquired and developed 6,000 apartments and 2 million square feet of commercial property across New York and Connecticut. Joshua Caspi joined the firm in 1999 and has overseen the expansion of its portfolio with residential and commercial projects, bringing the company to new heights while affiliating with key partners including Faros Properties, Artemis Real Estate Partners, RWN Real Estate Partners, Lehrer Cumming, AECOM Tishman, and Turner Construction.
The Caspi Development acumen lies in identifying distressed and underutilized properties with untapped potential. Decades of real estate pedigree, coupled with a comprehensive hands-on approach, allow Caspi to hone in on and perfect “diamond in the rough” projects.
